Above, two new puppies left with the Humane Society. Don't think they'll be homeless for long. Below, I went with Melody and her handler on a socializing walk. Every day staff and volunteers take the dogs out for walks to learn their habits and help them be easy with people and their new life.
Visitors bring love and attention to abandoned animals.
Every Saturday the book lady has a sale to raise money for the cause.
Outside the buildings there is a group of long term kitties who keep the place mouse free.
Photos taken at the Siskiyou Humane Society beginning in November, 2011. Fun and funny, they make you feel good.

Learning Community Service at a Young Age
The Humane Society has great opportunities for young volunteers. One on one time with young puppies and kittens makes a big difference later on. Probably for the young volunteer, too.
This little cutie lost an eye to an infection but it doesn't slow her down.
Volunteers lead the dogs through the thrift store to train them how to be around strange people.
Kittens are definitely a babe magnet. Want to find a beautiful woman, come to the Humane Society.
